BlueGen delivers on all three.
BlueGen® uses Ceramic Fuel Cell's patented Solid Oxide Fuel Cell technology to generate electricity at very high efficiency - up to 60 per cent electrical efficiency (LHV) from natural gas. That's the world's highest electrical efficiency from a small-scale generator.
For maximum efficiency, BlueGen operates at a constant output of 1.5 kW, i.e. approximately 13,000 kWh of low-emission electricity per year. BlueGen's high electrical efficiency means low thermal outputs, allowing BlueGen to operate all year round.
High electrical efficiency means low emissions. Using natural gas, BlueGen produces around 340 kg CO2-e per megawatt-hour, with virtually no SOx or NOx emissions.
As part of a Distributed Generation network, BlueGen is a ‘true' dispatchable base-load generator. Controlled remotely, BlueGen can operate at part-load with very high efficiency, making it ideal for Smart Grids, balancing renewable energy and eventually the Virtual Power Plant.
